Stores Person – Forklift Operator (Full‑time Contract)

About the role

We are recruiting a Stores Person to join a long‑standing company in Berkhamsted. The role is based on‑site in a warehouse environment, supporting both manufacturing and distribution operations on a full‑time contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, unload and accurately store incoming goods, ensuring proper recording.
• Pick and pack customer orders for timely dispatch, maintaining safe packaging standards.
• Carry out regular stocktaking, investigate discrepancies and report low stock levels.
• Book courier deliveries and coordinate with the customer service team to ensure accurate dispatch.
• Support e‑commerce order fulfilment and distribution.
• Maintain accurate records of goods movements using internal systems and Microsoft Outlook.
• Follow health and safety procedures, especially when handling heavier items.
• Collaborate with warehouse, manufacturing and operations teams to keep processes running smoothly.
• Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers and external partners as required.

Required profile

• Naturally organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Previous warehouse, stores, stock control or inventory experience is a strong advantage.
• Confident computer user with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a small team.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work at pace in a physically demanding role.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
• Valid Forklift Truck certificate or licence.
• Right to work full‑time in the UK and ability to commute to Berkhamsted.
