Stores Technician – Hospitality & Catering

About the role

We are looking for an organised Stores Technician to join the Hospitality & Catering team at Bournemouth and Poole College. Based in the new Escoffier facilities, you will support teaching kitchens, commercial restaurant operations and a range of events by ensuring a smooth flow of ingredients, equipment and other resources.

Key responsibilities

• Manage stock levels, place orders, receive deliveries and maintain accurate inventory records for all hospitality and catering supplies.
• Ensure that ingredients, specialist equipment and consumables are available for lectures, assessments, restaurant service and competitions.
• Maintain robust stock control systems and purchasing documentation.
• Develop and sustain relationships with suppliers to obtain quality products at value.
• Support lecturers, chefs and students with specialist resources and operational requirements.
• Coordinate resources for master‑classes, employer‑led activities and commercial events.
• Monitor food safety, allergen management, HACCP compliance and environmental health standards.
• Oversee maintenance and servicing of catering equipment and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve sustainability.

Required profile

• Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Level 2 Catering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of professional food production, kitchen operations and food safety practices.
• Experience of stock control, procurement or stores management within a hospitality or food‑production environment.
• Excellent organisational and planning abilities with great attention to detail.
