Strategic Lead for Participation and Co-production

About the role

Bristol City Council has created a new full-time permanent post to take the lead on participation and co-production, putting children and young people's voices at the heart of everything the council does. The postholder creates systems so that children and young people's feedback has a tangible impact on decision-making, and leads and co-designs a new participation strategy to drive inclusive practice across complex systems.

Required profile

• Significant experience championing the voices of children and young people.
• A strong track record of leading change.
• Excellent communication and diplomacy skills.
• Experience working with a variety of professionals as well as children and young people.
• Ability to engage across all sectors, from senior leaders to youth and community workers.

The role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check. Applicants must show how they meet the essential criteria in the person specification; shortlisting may also consider desirable criteria. Interviews are planned for the week starting Monday 9 November, with a young people's panel possibly on a different day. Bristol City Council does not offer sponsorship.
