About the role

The University of Oxford is creating a new Strategic Partnerships Project Management function within the MPLS Divisional Office. Two Project Managers will lead high‑value collaborations with industry, with one role dedicating 50% of time to the newly funded BOLD Lab, a world‑leading AI research initiative.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of strategically important partnership projects from initial engagement through negotiation, contract signing and delivery.
  • Collaborate with academic leaders, industry partners and professional services to ensure project momentum and successful outcomes.
  • Provide project leadership that navigates complexity and enables academic colleagues to focus on scientific research.
  • Allocate 50% of time (for the BOLD Lab role) to support the AI research laboratory’s partnership activities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across organisational boundaries.

Required profile

  • Degree‑level education or equivalent.
  • Significant experience managing complex projects, partnerships or business‑development activities involving senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to influence, communicate and build relationships at senior levels.
  • Comfort operating across organisational boundaries in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience of academic‑industry collaboration or research partnership programmes is advantageous.
