Strategic People Partner

About the role

The City of London Corporation is seeking an experienced Strategic People Partner to join its People, Culture and Inclusion team. This part‑time, hybrid role will act as the lead HR partner for designated business areas, influencing senior stakeholders and delivering people solutions that drive organisational success.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic HR advice and guidance to allocated business units across the full employee lifecycle.
• Partner with senior managers to shape workforce planning, talent development and organisational change initiatives.
• Manage complex employee‑relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence matters.
• Lead and contribute to HR projects that align with the organisation’s people strategy.
• Support fair and inclusive recruitment processes, advising managers on senior‑level appointments.
• Analyse HR data and trends to inform decision‑making and identify continuous‑improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a strategic HR or business‑partnering role.
• Proven ability to deliver pragmatic HR advice in line with employment legislation.
• Experience handling complex employee‑relations cases and leading organisational change.
• Strong background in managing recruitment, including senior‑level hires.
• Competence in using HR systems and reporting tools to support business decisions.

Required skills

• Experience with HR information systems (HRIS) and people‑data reporting.
