Strategy and Policy Analyst

About the role

As a Strategy and Policy Analyst at Cadent you will help shape the company’s response to the low‑carbon energy transition. The role combines economic, regulatory and market analysis with the development of strategic insights that influence Cadent’s long‑term direction.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver economic, commercial and regulatory analysis to inform Cadent’s strategy.
• Develop scenarios and economic models for hydrogen, biomethane, hybrid energy systems and Net‑Zero pathways.
• Produce consultation responses and contribute to policy and regulatory frameworks.
• Generate insight reports and publications that position Cadent as a thought leader.
• Engage with government bodies, regulators and industry groups to influence outcomes.
• Collaborate with strategy, regulation, finance and external affairs teams to ensure integrated solutions.

Required profile

• Experience in the UK energy market or regulated network environment.
• Strong analytical capability with a track record of building and using economic or financial models.
• Understanding of policy development and regulatory processes.
• Ability to translate complex analysis into clear strategic recommendations.
