About the role

Join the Strategy & Risk Advisory Africa unit at J.S. Held for a summer internship focused on political, economic and ESG trends across key African jurisdictions. You will work alongside senior consultants to support client projects, conduct research, and help expand the firm’s network on the continent.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and research political, economic, business and ESG developments in African markets.
• Draft briefings, reports and client presentations.
• Assist with due‑diligence and reputational investigations.
• Contribute to specialist political analysis for specific regions.
• Identify potential government, private‑sector and stakeholder relationships.
• Support the identification of new business opportunities for the Strategy & Risk Advisory practice.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a university degree program (undergraduate or graduate).
• Strong interest in African markets, political risk and strategic consulting.
• Excellent research, analytical and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment.
