Structured Cabling Engineer – Data Cabling Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Structured Cabling Engineer to join a national communications contractor in Lancaster. The role involves installing, terminating and testing data and fibre optic cabling across commercial and educational sites. Immediate start and full‑time hours (9 am‑5 pm) are offered.

Key responsibilities

• Install and terminate CAT5/6 data cabling, blown fibre tubing and run fibre optic cables (no splicing) in accordance with project specifications.
• Perform moves, adds and changes (MAC) for network devices in commercial and educational environments.
• Test and certify installed cabling to industry standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work site, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Provide accurate documentation of work completed.

Required profile

• Valid CSCS or ECS card; additional industry accreditations (e.g., Datacom, Network Infrastructure, Cabling Installer) are advantageous.
• Own hand tools, termination tools and power drills; SDS/impact drivers are a plus.
• Ability to supply two relevant work references and proof of right‑to‑work in the UK.

Required skills

• Installation and termination of CAT5/6 data cabling.

• Experience with MAC (moves, adds, changes) in commercial/educational settings.
• Use of hand tools, SDS/impact drivers and termination equipment.
