Structured Cabling Engineer (DBS)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Structured Cabling Engineer to join a national contractor on a short‑term project in High Wycombe. The role involves upgrading Wi‑Fi networks, installing new wireless access points and extending data cabling across both internal and external sites.

Key responsibilities

• Upgrade and expand Wi‑Fi infrastructure by installing new access points.
• Install and terminate CAT6 data cabling, including containment work.
• Perform both internal and external cabling tasks, adhering to safety standards.
• Work 8‑hour day shifts (8 am‑5 pm) Monday to Friday.

Required profile

• Valid ECS/Equivalent structured cabling or CSCS card.
• Willingness to complete first‑aid, manual handling, asbestos awareness and working‑at‑heights training (provided if needed).
• Minimum 2 years experience in the communications/cabling industry.
• Proof of right to work in the UK and relevant work references.
• Own PPE and hand tools, including a termination kit and drill.

Required skills

• CAT6 installation and termination.
• Structured cabling standards (ECS/CSCS).
• Wireless access point installation.
• Use of hand tools and power drills for cabling work.
