Sub-Agent – Water Retain Barrier Team (Plymouth)

About the role

We are seeking a Sub‑Agent to join our Water Retain Barrier (WRB) team at the Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth. The role is full‑time (45 hours per week) with flexible hours and a hybrid work mode – remote work is possible, but occasional visits to the site are required. Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have lived in the UK for the past five years to obtain the necessary security clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor team members while upholding high health, safety and environmental standards.
• Communicate effectively with management, technical specialists, clients and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Manage resources, monitor progress against agreed programmes and develop solutions to minimise impacts.
• Maintain and follow all documentation, risk assessments and test plans.
• Support cost management systems and commercial reporting for the agent.

Required profile

• Degree, HND, HNC or NVQ in Construction/Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
• Detail‑oriented, strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
• Experience in construction/civils operations with SMSTS/SSSTS certification.
• Enthusiastic about working in a team environment while caring for colleagues.
