Subcontract Manufacturing Manager – Defence & Technology

About the role

We are seeking a Subcontract Manufacturing Manager to lead subcontract manufacturing activities for a leading defence and technology consultancy. Based in Romsey with hybrid working, you will oversee the production of advanced electronic and electromechanical systems and ensure delivery on‑time‑in‑full.

Key responsibilities

• Manage subcontract manufacturing partners and monitor supplier performance.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing plans in collaboration with production and programme teams.
• Utilise ERP/MRP systems to control production demand, material availability and inventory.
• Track work‑in‑process, inventory levels and delivery performance, proactively mitigating risks.
• Coordinate engineering changes with subcontractors and plan capacity to meet programme delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement and lean initiatives across manufacturing and supplier processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electronics or electromechanical manufacturing.
• Background in subcontract manufacturing, manufacturing planning or supply chain management.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong supplier and stakeholder management, with excellent planning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Desirable experience in defence, aerospace or other regulated environments.
