Superflex Roadside Mechanic – Flexible Shifts in Oxford

About the role

Join the RAC as a Superflex Roadside Mechanic, providing fast, reliable assistance to members across the Oxford cluster. You will work flexible shifts that may run from early mornings to late evenings, covering weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to roadside breakdown calls and safely recover vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair light‑vehicle faults on‑site using provided tools and diagnostic kits.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate status updates to members.
• Travel between locations such as Oxford, Abingdon, Didcot, Wantage, Witney, Bicester and Thame, starting and finishing each day from home.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years’ experience, **or** 5 years’ experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

• Competitive base salary £50,669 – £57,000 per year (including bonuses and overtime).
