Supermarket Assistant – Night Shift, Basingstoke

About the role

Waitrose in Basingstoke is recruiting a Supermarket Assistant for a temporary part-time night shift. The role helps customers feel the difference on every visit, supporting the shop team with stock, online orders and general shopkeeping. Pay is £13.00, rising to £13.25 after 90 days.

Key responsibilities

• Stock replenishment, keeping shelves full and products in the right place.
• Fulfill online customer orders ready for delivery drivers.
• Reduce wastage by following product due diligence and markdowns to sell-by dates.
• Support the wider shop team, including checkout support, Click & Collect orders and on-demand orders.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.

Required profile

• Communication skills to work well with colleagues and customers.
• Experience in a customer-facing role is welcomed.
• Flexible approach to support the whole branch.

Required skills

• Desirable: up-to-date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.

• Night premium of £3.75 per hour for work between 22:00 and 06:00.
