Supply Teacher – Secondary School

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic supply teachers to cover daily or longer‑term placements across secondary schools in Bolton. You will work in a variety of classrooms, delivering lessons in your subject area and inspiring young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that follow the school curriculum.
• Adapt quickly to new classroom environments and student groups.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
• Assess and record student progress, providing feedback as required.
• Collaborate with permanent staff and follow school policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Flexibility to work across a range of secondary subjects and school settings.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities.
• Strong communication skills and a professional attitude.

Required skills

• Subject‑specific knowledge for secondary education (e.g., English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Arts, PE, Computing).
• Lesson planning and classroom management.
