Supply Teacher – Secondary Schools (Flexible Days)

About the role
Reed Education is seeking qualified secondary supply teachers to cover day‑to‑day and short‑term teaching needs across schools in Reading, Wokingham, West Berkshire and surrounding areas. The role offers flexible assignments that can suit your availability, whether you prefer occasional cover or longer placements.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver curriculum content in your subject area to secondary‑school students.
- Prepare and mark assessments, ensuring timely feedback.
- Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment.
- Adapt lesson plans to meet the specific needs of each school.
- Collaborate with permanent staff to ensure continuity of learning.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
- Early‑career teachers (ECTs) and experienced secondary teachers are welcome.
- Subject specialists across any secondary curriculum area.
- Flexibility to work on short notice and adapt to different school settings.
Required skills
- Strong classroom management.
- Effective communication with pupils and staff.
- Ability to deliver lesson plans aligned with the national curriculum.
