Supply Teacher – Secondary (Watford & Hertfordshire)

About the role

Academics is recruiting qualified secondary supply teachers for schools across Watford and Hertfordshire. This temporary role offers flexible day‑to‑day or longer‑term assignments, allowing you to choose when and where you work while gaining experience in a variety of school environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum‑aligned lessons to secondary students across different year groups.
• Maintain effective classroom management and discipline.
• Adapt teaching materials to suit each school's policies and student needs.
• Record attendance, assessments and progress reports accurately.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure a smooth handover between assignments.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching in secondary schools.
• Strong classroom management skills and a flexible, positive attitude.
• Confidence working across multiple schools and year groups.
• Genuine passion for education and student development.
