Supply Teacher – Year 6 – Margate

About the role

Hays Education is partnering with several primary schools in Margate to recruit enthusiastic Year 6 teachers on a supply or long‑term basis. The role involves guiding pupils through their final year of primary education and preparing them for the transition to secondary school.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons for Year 6 classes.
• Support pupils in preparing for end‑of‑year assessments.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes confidence, resilience and independence.
• Monitor and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
• Collaborate with school leadership, colleagues and parents to support each learner.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it.
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, preferably Upper KS2.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Commitment to high expectations for all pupils.
• Professional attitude and enthusiasm for helping children succeed.
