Supply Teaching Assistant – Flexible School Support

About the role

Academics is seeking reliable Supply Teaching Assistants to provide short‑term and long‑term cover across primary, secondary and SEN schools in the St. Albans area. This role offers flexible, part‑time work for individuals who enjoy supporting pupils and teachers in a dynamic classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
• Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
• Provide additional support for pupils with SEND or other needs.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a safe learning space.
• Support pupils' social and emotional development.
• Prepare resources and undertake general classroom duties.
• Give feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people (school experience desirable but not essential).
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Adaptable, proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Reliability and flexibility in availability.
• Interest in education, child development or SEND support.
