Support 4 Families Social Worker

About the role

The Support 4 Families team within Cardiff City Council’s early help and prevention service is seeking a qualified Social Worker to cover maternity leave. This community‑based role focuses on early intervention, helping families access timely support and preventing the need for statutory intervention.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out proportionate assessments and develop family plans using person‑centred planning.
• Manage cases, coordinating with partners to identify and meet individual support needs.
• Deliver direct interventions with families, using initiative and flexibility to create creative solutions.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with DBS and registration requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant Social Work qualification.
• Registration with Social Care Wales or Social Work England.
• Enhanced DBS (registered on the update service or willingness to obtain one).
• Minimum three years of relevant referencing experience.
• Valid driving licence and access to a car.

Required skills
