Support Tutors & Learning Support Assistants – Kent

About the role

Join an independent alternative provision school in Gravesend, Kent, supporting young people aged 11‑18 who have struggled in mainstream education. As a Support Tutor or Learning Support Assistant you will help students rebuild confidence, engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to students with SEMH, ADHD, autism and other additional learning needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships and use a calm, restorative approach to behaviour management.
• Encourage emotional wellbeing, confidence and active engagement in lessons.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and the pastoral team to tailor learning experiences.
• Assist students in achieving both academic and personal development goals.

Required profile

• Minimum six months experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, ADHD, autism, challenging behaviour or other additional needs.
• Positive, patient and resilient attitude.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.

Required skills

What we offer

• £17 per hour, paid hourly.
• Part‑time and full‑time term‑time positions (8:30 am – 3:30 pm).
• Flexible start dates in September 2026 or January 2027, with ad‑hoc and long‑term opportunities.
