Support Worker – Castlehill (Permanent)

About the role

Depaul’s Castlehill service provides temporary accommodation and low‑to‑medium intensity support for people experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges or substance use. As a Support Worker you will join a multi‑disciplinary team delivering holistic, housing‑led assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for service users, agencies, contractors and visitors, ensuring a warm, professional welcome.
• Support service users with daily practical needs such as meal preparation, laundry and upkeep of living spaces.
• Maintain accurate service‑user records and provide timely communication to colleagues.
• Assist case workers with activities that help service users meet personal goals, e.g., financial, creative or educational tasks.
• Carry out cleaning duties, health‑and‑safety checks, report building defects and ensure compliance with Depaul policies.
• Perform project administration tasks including petty cash, statistics, invoices, record keeping and incident reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 GCSEs A‑C (including Maths and English) or equivalent.
• At least 1 year paid relevant work experience or 2 years relevant volunteering experience.
• Good knowledge of risk assessment, health & safety standards and IT systems for client records.
• Understanding of homelessness, related services and statutory/voluntary sector resources.
