Support Worker – Children & Young People (Full‑time/Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking passionate and resilient Support Workers to join our team in Southampton. You will work directly with children and young people who need extra help due to learning disabilities, mental health challenges, or complex emotional needs. This role offers the chance to make a direct, lasting impact on a child's life.

Key responsibilities

• Daily living support: assist with routines, meal preparation, personal care and social activities.
• Emotional & behavioural support: use positive behaviour strategies to help children manage emotions safely.
• Create fun & structure: plan activities such as trips, crafts or sports to promote happiness.
• Progress tracking: write clear daily logs for care and social work teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience as a children’s support worker or similar childcare role.
• Strong communication skills in English for reading care plans and writing reports.
• Adaptability to think quickly and make safe decisions in unpredictable moments.
• Empathy and resilience to handle challenging behaviours calmly.

Required skills

• Good English reading and writing ability.
