Support Worker – Children & Young People (Mental Health)

About the role
MedGen Healthcare is looking for compassionate Support Workers to provide high‑quality care for children and young people with complex mental health needs. You will work directly with individuals experiencing autism, ADHD, emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them feel safe and supported in daily life.
Key responsibilities
- Offer consistent emotional support and reassurance to children experiencing anxiety or distress.
- Assist with routines, transitions and sensory sensitivities for autistic or ADHD learners.
- Support daily living activities such as personal care, meals and hygiene.
- Implement behaviour support plans and positive strategies in line with care plans.
- De‑escalate challenging behaviours using PMVA techniques when required.
- Maintain accurate, timely records of care and incidents.
- Create a nurturing, structured environment tailored to each child’s needs.
Required profile
- Minimum six months UK experience as a Support Worker.
- Experience with autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
- Current PMVA training (or willingness to complete).
- Strong communication and safeguarding knowledge.
