Support Worker – Children’s Home

About the role

This position supports young people living in a children’s home to develop the skills and confidence needed for independent living. You will work alongside a dedicated team, delivering keywork sessions, safeguarding, and daily care in a safe, respectful environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver keywork sessions and promote social inclusion.
• Attend and contribute to team meetings and ensure staff training is up‑to‑date.
• Write accurate, factual daily reports.
• Teach life‑skills and encourage participation in activities.
• Promote privacy, dignity and independence for each young person.
• Maintain a clean, healthy living environment and enforce health‑and‑safety standards.
• Carry out daily safety checks, including fire doors, fire drills and weekly fire‑alarm tests.
• Report any safeguarding concerns promptly.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in a children’s home or similar residential setting.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written communication for daily reporting.
• Commitment to health and safety procedures and safeguarding policies.
