Support Worker – Colchester – £15‑£18 per hour

About the role

We are looking for caring and flexible Support Workers to provide day‑to‑day assistance for children in care across the South of England. This temporary, ongoing role offers varied placements and the chance to make a real difference in young people's lives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily support to children in care, ensuring safety, emotional well‑being and personal development.
• Promote positive behaviours, healthy relationships and stability.
• Collaborate with other professionals to implement care plans and meet each child's needs.
• Complete accurate daily records, incident reports and handovers.
• Identify and report any safeguarding concerns.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in the UK health and social care sector.
• Previous experience working with children and young people.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Flexibility in working hours and locations; willingness to travel.
• Caring, professional and non‑judgemental attitude.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Emotional resilience and attention to detail.
• Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (preferred).
• Valid DBS (support provided if needed).
