Support Worker – Crisis Response for Children (Manchester)

We are looking for empathetic, resilient Support Workers and Senior Support Workers to join our specialist crisis response teams across Greater Manchester. Key responsibilities

• Support children in residential settings with daily routines, appointments, family contact, and engaging activities.
• Build trust and positive relationships with young people using creative, trauma‑informed approaches.
• Confidently de‑escalate challenging behaviours to maintain a safe, nurturing environment.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and incident reports to inform long‑term care plans.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months of paid UK care experience (residential child care strongly preferred).
• Strong de‑escalation techniques and sound decision‑making under pressure.
• Calm, non‑judgemental and resilient approach when handling crisis situations.
• Active DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one); PMVA training highly desirable.
• Full UK driver’s licence with business insurance preferred to assist with community activities.
