Support Worker – Crisis Team

About the role

Randstad Care is looking for dedicated Support Workers to join specialist crisis teams that provide day‑to‑day assistance to vulnerable children and young people in residential settings. You will help create a safe, structured environment while supporting individuals through trauma and crisis.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with young people using creative methods to build trust.
• De‑escalate heightened behaviours and maintain safety.
• Support daily activities, appointments and family contact.
• Record accurate daily logs and incident reports to inform care plans.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months paid UK care experience, preferably in a residential setting.
• Ability to use de‑escalation techniques and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Calm, resilient and non‑judgemental approach during crisis situations.
• Willingness to complete PMVA training if not already trained.
• Current DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver’s licence and business insurance are desirable.
