Support worker – Deaf Community

About the role

Join Cygnet’s dedicated team delivering high‑quality care to d/Deaf service users with mental health needs. Working in a newly opened step‑down community setting, you will provide 12‑hour shifts across a mixed pattern, supporting individuals on their recovery journey.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised care and emotional support to d/Deaf adults in a five‑bed rehabilitation environment.
• Assist with daily living activities, medication administration and welfare needs.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team from Cygnet Bury Dunes to ensure continuity of care.
• Document observations, progress notes and any changes in condition.
• Promote independence and facilitate access to recovery opportunities comparable to hearing peers.

Required profile

• Native or fluent British Sign Language (BSL) user, minimum Signature Level 2, or willingness to obtain training.
• Experience working with or living alongside Deaf individuals is desirable.
• Strong team player with a compassionate approach to mental health support.
• Willingness to work full‑time (42 hours/week) on a rotating 12‑hour shift pattern.
