Support Worker – Home Care for 9‑Year‑Old with Complex Needs

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Support Worker to provide personalised home care for a bright 9‑year‑old boy with complex clinical needs. You will work in Leek, England, delivering daily assistance that promotes his independence, communication and enjoyment of life.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support daily living activities.
• Manage PEG feeding tube and administer prescribed medication.
• Monitor and respond to seizures according to care plan.
• Assist with therapy programmes, passive exercises and hydrotherapy appointments.
• Facilitate music, sensory and technology‑based activities to encourage engagement.
• Support communication using the child’s Smartbox device.

Required profile

• Minimum three months experience in care or support work.
• Manual driving licence.
• Ability to build trusting, patient relationships with the child and his family.
• Good sense of humour and a family‑centred approach.
• Interest in music, gaming or sensory play is an advantage.
