Support Worker – Mental Health Service

About the role
We are seeking a compassionate Support Worker to join our Mental Health Service in Newham. The role focuses on providing short‑term, person‑centred support to individuals transitioning from inpatient care back into the community.
Key responsibilities
- Assess referrals within a 4‑hour target and deliver rapid response.
- Turn around void flats within 4‑24 hours.
- Induct new customers and orient them to the local area.
- Assist with housing referrals, budgeting tools, and benefits navigation.
- Support customers in addressing any barriers to safe community living.
Required profile
- Enjoys social interaction and encourages customer involvement in local activities.
- Exudes a warm, friendly presence and open behaviour.
Required skills
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or equivalent) with relevant sector experience.
- Basic budgeting and benefits‑access knowledge.

- Annual leave increasing up to 30 days based on length of service.
