Support Worker – Mental Health & Social Inclusion

About the role

We are seeking warm, respectful and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our Social Inclusion and Recovery Service in Blackburn with Darwen. You will deliver person‑centred support to adults with mental health and other complex needs, helping them to build daily living skills and achieve greater independence.

Key responsibilities

• Work with individuals using the recovery model, both one‑to‑one and in group settings.
• Facilitate activities that promote social inclusion and community participation.
• Assist with housing, tenancy and daily living tasks to support independent living.
• Maintain accurate administrative records related to care plans and service delivery.
• Collaborate with external agencies, businesses and volunteers to develop activity opportunities.
• Provide flexible support, including occasional evenings and weekends, as service needs dictate.

Required profile

• Demonstrated caring, compassionate and solution‑focused attitude.
• Experience (paid or unpaid) supporting people with mental health needs.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to duty of care.
• Full clean driving licence and access to a car.
• Ability to work flexibly within standard Monday‑Friday hours and occasional out‑of‑hours shifts.

Required skills

• Valid UK driving licence.
• Basic administrative and record‑keeping abilities.
