Support Worker – Permanent, Full‑time (Carlisle)

About the role

Riverside Group is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join its team in Carlisle. You will work within a supported service, helping vulnerable customers access employment support, financial advice, benefits, and stable housing. The role is rewarding, offering the chance to make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

Key responsibilities

• Connect customers with employability coaches, benefit services and other support agencies.
• Assist clients in managing finances, applying for benefits and moving towards permanent accommodation.
• Maintain accurate records of all interactions and interventions.
• Work a 3‑week rolling rota covering 09:00‑20:00, including occasional weekends.
• Collaborate with the wider team to ensure holistic, person‑centred support.

Required profile

• Experience working with vulnerable or disadvantaged people.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver structured support and manage risk.
• Empathetic, resilient and able to maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including lone working when required.
• Understanding of homelessness, substance misuse or related challenges – personal lived experience is valued.
