Support Worker – Residential Care

About the role
We are looking for dedicated Support Workers to join residential care settings in Richmond. You will provide daily assistance, emotional support and advocacy for vulnerable children and young people living in group homes, assisted living facilities or treatment centres.
Key responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
- Ensure medication is taken correctly and monitor health conditions.
- Provide emotional encouragement, active listening and basic counselling.
- Implement behaviour support plans and promote positive behaviour.
- Teach and support skills for cooking, cleaning, budgeting and maintaining a tidy environment.
- Organise and facilitate recreational and social activities.
- Maintain accurate records of resident progress, incidents and health changes.
- Respond to emergencies or crises to safeguard resident wellbeing.
- Act as an advocate, liaising with healthcare professionals, families and external agencies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and follow individualized care plans.
Required profile
- At least 6 months experience in a healthcare or residential care setting.
- Valid right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to cover day and night shifts.
