About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Support Worker to join our team at Rix House, a residential care home in Keighley, West Yorkshire. You will help individuals with physical and learning disabilities live as independently as possible, both within the home and in the community.
Key responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal hygiene and daily living tasks.
- Support residents during meals, drinking, and medication administration.
- Facilitate community activities, shopping, budgeting, cooking and outings.
- Work collaboratively with a multi‑disciplinary team, families and specialists.
- Contribute to the transition of residents to supported living arrangements when required.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.
- Hold the Care Certificate or a diploma in Health and Social Care.
- Resilient, patient, and understanding with strong communication skills.
- Willingness to learn about epilepsy management (training provided).
Required skills
- Knowledge of personal care and medication support procedures.
- Ability to use clear, supportive language to promote independence.
- Understanding of health and safety standards in a care setting.
