Support Worker (SEN Teaching Assistant) – Wirral

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join a specialist SEN school in Wirral. You will act as a Teaching Assistant, providing one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH and behavioural needs.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and managing the learning environment.
- Provide individualized support to pupils, helping them engage with the curriculum.
- Monitor and support pupil behaviour using structured strategies.
- Collaborate with staff to develop and implement personalised support plans.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and incidents.
Required profile
- Previous experience in support or care roles, residential support, youth work or working with vulnerable individuals.
- Demonstrated experience supporting people with autism, learning disabilities or challenging behaviour.
- Ability to work effectively in a structured school setting.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in education.
