Supported Housing Support Worker – Young People

About the role

Join a Young People's Supported Housing Service in Cullompton, providing person‑centred assistance to help vulnerable youth develop independent living skills, maintain tenancy and improve wellbeing. This temporary role (4‑6 weeks) offers a fast‑start opportunity for those with experience in supported housing, homelessness, or youth services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of young people, delivering tailored one‑to‑one support.
• Develop, implement and regularly review person‑centred support plans.
• Complete risk assessments and ensure safe working practices.
• Teach independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking, tenancy sustainment and appointment management.
• Facilitate access to education, employment, training and community services.
• Build relationships with external agencies, including housing providers and healthcare professionals.
• Support new residents with move‑ins, inductions and settlement.
• Deliver group activities that promote wellbeing, confidence and life skills.
• Maintain accurate case notes, records and documentation.
• Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and organisational policies.

Required profile

• Compassionate, resilient and passionate about supporting vulnerable young people.
• Previous experience supporting vulnerable individuals or in a customer‑focused environment.
• Current Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends on a rota basis.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £14.12 plus holiday pay (£16.52 per hour Umbrella).
• 37.5‑hour week with occasional weekend shifts (1 weekend in 3).
