Supported Living Deputy Manager

About the role

Make a real difference in people’s lives as Deputy Manager at Birchwood House, supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. You will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure high‑quality, person‑centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Support individuals and families in decision‑making, respecting preferences and choices.
• Assist the Registered Manager with day‑to‑day service management, including rotas, care planning and quality assurance.
• Supervise, develop and support the staff team.
• Oversee medication management and safe working practices.
• Monitor care quality against policies and regulatory standards.
• Promote positive behavioural approaches for complex needs.
• Foster a collaborative culture with families, professionals and external agencies.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in a Deputy Manager or senior care leadership role within learning disabilities, autism or complex needs services.
• Relevant health or social care qualification, or professional qualification such as Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Social Work.
• Good knowledge of positive behaviour support and best practice for complex needs.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Person‑centred approach with genuine commitment to improving lives.
• Flexibility to work a rota covering evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
