Survey Engineer – Offshore Marine Works

About the role

The Survey Engineer (OMW) will support offshore marine construction projects by delivering accurate hydrographic and geomatics data. Working on‑site in Aberdeen, you will ensure safe execution of survey tasks and maintain high‑quality data for client deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Assist fellow employees and conduct daily Job Safety Analyses and pre‑tower safety meetings.
• Manage and carry out specific survey tasks as directed by the client, project manager, or survey manager.
• Calibrate heading, attitude and bathymetric sensors and configure navigation software to the correct projection and geodetic datum.
• Run online survey/inspection spreads, create and configure online navigation displays for vessels, ROVs and relevant map information.
• Fault‑find survey systems, configure logging of project data, and prepare comprehensive survey reports.
• Ensure compliance with company safety rules, report unsafe conditions, and care for company equipment.
• Train and mentor field personnel on survey procedures and equipment usage.

Required profile

• Degree in Survey, Geomatics, Hydrography or equivalent offshore experience.
• Proven offshore marine construction experience.
• Familiarity with DGPS (C‑Nav, Hemisphere), survey software (Eiva, 4D Nav) and multibeam systems.
• Understanding of environmental impacts on survey data and calibration requirements.
• Ability to manage data, reporting formats and adhere to client‑specific requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong IT knowledge for online navigation spreads.
