Sustainability and CSR Advisor – High Wycombe

About the role

We are seeking a driven and proactive Sustainability and CSR Advisor to join our HSQES team in High Wycombe. The role supports environmental and sustainability functions across the Optima Group and provides peer support for an apprentice while delivering internal training.

Key responsibilities

• Provide sustainability and CSR support for construction projects, acting as the principal business sustainability champion.
• Support project tenders and external enquiries by identifying, communicating and responding to client sustainability requirements.
• Develop, manage and report on CSR policies, strategies, procedures and budgets across the Optima Group, aligning with UN SDGs and social value reporting standards.
• Gather, cleanse and prepare data for NZC reporting in line with the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064‑1, and assist third‑party accounting systems.
• Maintain and improve the Group’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and support the transition to ISO 14001:2026.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging environmental and social legislation and advise the business on compliance.
• Provide peer support to an apprentice and assist with internal environmental and sustainability training.

Required profile

• Degree in environmental, sustainability or related field, preferably with built‑environment content.
• Interest in sustainability within the construction sector and experience in the construction industry.
• Strong IT aptitude and willingness to learn new tools.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (formatting, formulas, pivot tables).
