Sustainability Manager (Part‑Time)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Sustainability Manager to lead the development and implementation of our sustainability strategy across operations, education, estates and service delivery. Working on a part‑time basis (22 hours per week) in Cheltenham, you will help embed environmental best practice throughout the organisation and drive measurable carbon reduction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor the organisation’s Sustainability Strategy.
• Lead the creation and delivery of a Carbon Management Plan.
• Monitor and report on energy consumption, carbon emissions and overall environmental performance.
• Identify and deliver carbon‑reduction initiatives across multiple sites.
• Support waste‑reduction, recycling and circular‑economy programmes.
• Promote biodiversity, sustainable travel and related projects.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to embed sustainability into everyday practices.
• Engage colleagues and service users in behaviour‑change programmes and awareness campaigns.
• Identify funding opportunities and prepare business cases for sustainability projects.
• Develop partnerships with external organisations to share best practice and drive innovation.
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and stay abreast of emerging sustainability trends.

• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and work collaboratively across departments.
• Strong communication skills and experience engaging a wide range of stakeholders.
