Swim School Teacher

About the role

GLL is seeking enthusiastic Swim School Teachers to deliver high‑quality swimming lessons at Yarborough Leisure Centre in Lincoln. You will work with pupils of all ages, helping them develop confidence and competence in the water while ensuring a safe learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver group and one‑to‑one swimming lessons in line with the Swim School product manual.
• Maintain a welcoming, professional poolside service and uphold the centre’s public image.
• Ensure pupil safety, enforce relevant regulations and follow safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Encourage enrolment in further courses and support new‑enrolments and re‑enrolments as directed by the General Manager.
• Record lesson outcomes and award achievements accurately.

Required profile

• Friendly, patient nature with the ability to build trust and motivate pupils.
• Understanding of health, safety legislation and child protection procedures.
• Ability to adapt teaching to individual pupil needs and abilities.

Required skills

• STA Award or Certificate level qualification.
• Swim England Level 2 certification.
• National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches (desirable).
