About the role
Join GLL at the Kendal Leisure Centre as a Swimming Teacher, delivering safe and engaging swimming lessons to learners of all ages. You will play a vital part in building confidence in the water while fostering a love for swimming.
Key responsibilities
- Provide a welcoming, professional poolside service and maintain a positive image of the centre.
- Deliver group and one‑to‑one swimming lessons in line with the product manual and progression standards.
- Ensure pupil safety, enforce relevant regulations and follow health‑and‑safety legislation.
- Encourage enrolment on further courses and support new‑enrolments and re‑enrolments.
- Record and complete awards, ensuring learners achieve the required levels.
- Adhere to the Safeguarding, Behaviour and Child Protection policies.
Required profile
- STA Award or Certificate level, or Swim England Level 2 qualification (NPLQ Award preferred).
- Strong knowledge of health, safety and relevant legislation.
- Understanding of Child Protection Policy.
- Approachable, friendly and patient demeanor to build trust with pupils.

- Swim teaching techniques and progression planning.
