Syndicate Reporting Manager

About the role

The Syndicate Reporting Manager joins the Syndicate Finance team of a leading London market re‑insurer. The role ensures the timely and accurate close of accounting ledgers and the preparation and submission of regulatory returns for the syndicates.

Key responsibilities

• Complete all aspects of the quarterly close process and present ledgers in accordance with UK GAAP.
• Review all balance‑sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Prepare and manage the quarter‑end close timetable.
• Produce financial analysis and performance reports required by the group.
• Develop and enhance the controlled accounting environment for ledger population and regulatory reporting.
• Liaise with external auditors to ensure regulatory submissions are signed and filed on time.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in the insurance market, preferably within the Lloyd's market.
• Proven experience completing Lloyd's regulatory returns.
• Experience preparing UK GAAP financial statements, preferably for Lloyd's syndicates.
• Experience with the close process of a multi‑currency ledger structure (preferably Sun).
• Strong understanding of insurance industry standards and statutory/regulatory reporting requirements (GAAP and Solvency).
