System Engineer – Autonomous Systems (Defence Tech)

About the role

We are supporting an early‑stage deep‑tech company that builds safety‑critical assurance technology for autonomous systems. The role is a hands‑on engineering position within a small, technical team, focused on real‑time monitoring and constraint of autonomous platforms used in defence and autonomy sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain real‑time monitoring and assurance systems for autonomous platforms.
• Integrate assurance technology with UAVs, multi‑agent systems and other autonomous platforms.
• Work with simulation environments to test and validate system behaviour in edge cases.
• Contribute across software and systems engineering disciplines.
• Collaborate closely with technical teams and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of engineering experience in software, systems, electronics, robotics or a related field.
• Proven ability to work on complex technical systems or products.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC) and right to work in the UK.
• Interest in autonomous systems, AI, or safety‑critical engineering.
