System Engineer - Robotics

About the role

As a Systems Engineer on the UK Engineering team, you will define requirements, design architectures, and integrate Applied Intuition’s technology into autonomous vehicles and defence systems. The role blends systems engineering, robotics, software deployment, and real‑world testing across office and field environments.

Key responsibilities

• Define system requirements from user needs and operational concepts.
• Design system‑of‑systems architectures aligned with open standards such as PYRAMID and FCADE.
• Build reference architectures for autonomy, mission, and weapon systems.
• Develop and maintain system engineering models and documentation.
• Deploy, test, and validate software on autonomous vehicles, focusing on robotics, sensors, and autopilot functions.
• Conduct hands‑on field work to ensure software operates reliably in dynamic environments.
• Collaborate with perception, autonomy, data science, and field operator teams to optimise vision, radar, and sensor‑fusion pipelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in systems engineering, robotics, and integration of complex autonomous systems.
• Ability to work both in an office setting and on‑site in field deployments.
• Strong analytical skills to translate user needs into technical specifications.
