About the role
We are seeking a highly technical Systems & Cloud Engineer to design, secure and operate the Azure platform for a prestigious US law firm located in the City of London. The role is hands‑on, hybrid and involves maintaining critical hybrid infrastructure services.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver cloud infrastructure strategies across Azure, SaaS and on‑premises environments.
- Design, implement and maintain enterprise Azure landing zones, governance frameworks, networking and multi‑subscription architectures.
- Deploy, manage and optimise Azure IaaS and PaaS services ensuring scalability, resilience and security.
- Lead cloud migration and modernisation initiatives, including assessment, planning, execution and legacy decommissioning.
- Design and support secure hybrid connectivity, networking and identity services (Azure AD, Microsoft Entra ID, on‑prem AD).
- Implement Zero‑Trust security, compliance, monitoring and governance controls.
- Provide technical leadership, escalation support and operational oversight for VMware, Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.
- Drive infrastructure design, capacity planning, performance optimisation and continuous service improvement.
- Participate in an on‑call rota and collaborate across teams to maintain service availability.
Required profile
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience designing, deploying and operating Microsoft Azure in an enterprise setting.
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment such as legal or financial services.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Terraform) are preferred.
Required skills
- Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, landing zones, multi‑subscription architecture)
- Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools – Terraform and/or PowerShell scripting
- VMware, Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
- Microsoft 365 services and familiarity with Purview (eDiscovery, retention)
- Microsoft Fabric and AI‑enabled productivity/security concepts (e.g., Copilot)
- Zero‑Trust security principles, networking, hybrid connectivity, Microsoft Entra ID

- Salary up to £70,000 per year
- Hybrid working model – 3 days in the office, 2 days remote
