Systems Engineer – Defence & Security (DV Clearance)

About the role

Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer to join its UK defence programme. The role involves managing a complex MOD system that supports national security, working primarily in a Windows environment with a focus on radio, video and network interfaces. Candidates must hold, or be able to obtain, DV clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering best practices across the full lifecycle of the system.
• Administer and maintain critical Microsoft server platforms, including AD, DNS and DHCP.
• Manage virtualisation environments and server patching from development through to production.
• Monitor system health, performance and security, providing real‑time issue resolution.
• Perform backup, restore and recovery operations and ensure high availability.
• Collaborate with customers and suppliers to integrate deliveries and support project delivery.

Required profile

• Current or eligible DV security clearance.
• Proven experience in server administration and Windows‑based systems.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting customer directives.

Required skills

• Microsoft Server administration (AD, DNS, DHCP).
• Virtualisation technologies.
• Server patch management.
• System monitoring and performance tuning.
• Backup, restore and recovery procedures.
• Red Hat Linux (nice to have).
• Radio technologies, especially ROIP.
• Networking fundamentals.
• Knowledge of JSP440 security guidelines.
• Experience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environments.
