Systems Engineer – Transportation Projects

About the role

SYSTRA is seeking a Systems Engineer to strengthen its Systems Engineering & Assurance discipline. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality requirements, integration, interface management and verification & validation services for transport‑focused projects.

Key responsibilities

• Implement processes to capture, manage, validate and measure the quality of systems engineering outputs such as requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit clear, concise and demonstrable requirements.
• Provide robust evidence for verification and validation of requirements across projects.
• Utilise industry‑standard tools (e.g., DOORS, Visio, Enterprise Architect) and processes (e.g., Architecting) to support integration, requirements management and V&V.
• Maintain and develop competence according to the company’s systems engineering framework.
• Establish and maintain relationships with external bodies (e.g., INCOSE, IfSE, SaRS) and key clients such as Network Rail, HS2 and Heathrow Airport Ltd.

Required profile

• Proven experience in requirements management and document control on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with the UK rail industry is highly desirable.
• Commercial acumen and a willingness to deepen systems engineering expertise within a design consultancy.
