Tax Accountant – Semi‑Senior (Full/Part‑time)

About the role

Our client is looking for a motivated Tax Semi‑Senior to join a growing tax team in Liverpool. The role involves preparing and reviewing tax compliance work for a diverse client portfolio while supporting senior staff on advisory projects and client management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare personal, partnership and corporation tax returns accurately and within deadlines.
• Assist with tax planning and advisory assignments for individuals and businesses.
• Liaise directly with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
• Support senior team members with HMRC correspondence and investigations.
• Review bookkeeping and financial information relevant to tax computations.
• Ensure compliance with current UK tax legislation and filing requirements.
• Maintain accurate client records and workflow management systems.
• Assist junior staff and contribute to team development.

Required profile

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice or tax environment.
• Good working knowledge of UK tax compliance.
• Studying towards or part‑qualified ACA, ACCA, ATT, or CTA.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with tax/accounting software.
