Tax Manager – Accountancy Practice

About the role

This full‑time, office‑based position offers an experienced tax professional the chance to lead a diverse client portfolio within a growing accountancy practice in Newton Abbot. You will work closely with senior partners, providing high‑quality tax advice and supporting the firm’s expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a varied portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients.
• Lead corporation tax compliance, reviews, and advisory work.
• Provide clear, proactive guidance to clients and act as their main point of contact.
• Support partners with complex queries, planning and strategic tax matters.
• Review junior team work, mentor staff and ensure accurate, timely HMRC filings.
• Identify tax‑saving opportunities and help develop the firm’s tax offering.

Required profile

• Strong experience in corporate tax, preferably from an accountancy practice or specialist tax firm.
• Qualified CTA, ATT or QBE, or a senior tax professional ready for progression.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and strong technical tax knowledge.
